A young man was murdered in Sitamarhi. The family members allege that the people with whom he was having an affair committed this crime. The incident took place in Kamaldah village of Bathnaha police station area of the district. The deceased youth was identified as Sumit Kumar, 19-year-old son of Virendra Sah, a resident of Kamaldah ward 1 of Bathnaha police station area. After the incident, there was a stir in the area. People from the surrounding area gathered. Here, on receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating.
I left home to see the fair
Local people say that Sumit had gone to see the Janmashtami fair late on Monday night. However, when he did not return till late night, the family started looking for him. When he did not return till around 2 o’clock, his elder brother Amit went out to look for him. During this time he saw that some people were tying up his brother and beating him. He pleaded with the criminals but no one listened to him. After this, he informed the local Bathnaha police station. The police reached the spot and freed Sumit in a badly injured condition and admitted him to the PHC for treatment, where the doctors referred him after seeing his critical condition. After this, he was brought to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital for better treatment. Here the doctors declared him dead. There is an uproar among the family members since the incident. The family is demanding justice. They are demanding strict action against the murderers.
Village of was having a love affair with a girl
The deceased’s elder brother Amit said that the deceased Sumit was having an affair with a girl. Earlier, a panchayat was also held in the village regarding this. During the panchayat, the girl’s family had threatened to kill Sumit. Here, after the matter came to light, the police has started investigating the matter. At present, the post-mortem of the deceased’s body is being done in Sadar Hospital. Police say that further action is going on in the case. Some people are being questioned.
